Thermal Transfer / Direct Thermal

Thermal Transfer printing is a digital printing process in which material is applied to paper (or some other material) by melting a coating of ribbon so that it stays glued to the material on which the print is applied.

Direct Thermal printers utilize a chemically treated material that blackens when the thermal print-head applies heat to the surface of the material. This type of printer requires no ink, toner or ribbon to apply print to the label surface. Direct Thermal printers are not able to print in color.

Laser Sheets

Laser Sheets are sheeted labels made to use with many different laser printers such as HP, Xerox and Lexmark. There are also many different size labels made to fit on the standard 8.5" x 11" laser sheet. They come in several colors. Regardless of the size of label, laser sheets are packaged 250 sheets per pack and 4 packs to a case. So you receive 1,000 sheets of labels per case.

Thermal Transfer Ribbon

There are three types of Thermal Transfer ribbon: Wax, Wax/Resin and Resin. They match the three basic label materials: paper, mid-range and synthetic. We offer a large range of ribbon formulas to get the best results on specific materials. Bar Code labels are usually Thermal and require a ribbon. Ribbon comes in various sizes to fit many different printers and label sizes.

Hot Stamp Ribbon

Hot Stamp ribbon is used for stamping various markings such as expiration dates, production dates, weight or price on product packaging. Hot Stamp is a thermal bonding process that results in permanent adhesive of the print to the substrate.
